Initial Bottleneck & Diagnosis
Early prototypes relied on standard REST polling for room allocations, creating race conditions when multiple receptionists attempted to check in guests to the same suite simultaneously.
Migrated state synchronization to Convex reactive subscriptions
Guaranteed transactional atomic mutations on room inventory with automatic optimistic UI updates across all terminals.
Required deeper client state integration compared to generic REST endpoints.
Implemented local IndexedDB persistence for offline resilience
Allowed staff to check in guests and queue billing transactions during connectivity interruptions.
Added synchronization conflict resolution logic when terminals re-established uplink.
